Jump Desktop with Fluid 2.0

We’re pleased to introduce a major update for Jump Desktop! After a year of extensive beta testing across four major releases, we’re rolling out powerful new features and enhancements designed to improve your remote desktop experience.

Here’s what’s new:

Fluid 2.0: Next-Level Performance & Visuals

Superior Compression & Color Fidelity:

Fluid 2.0 improves compression and color fidelity, delivering sharper visuals while using less bandwidth, making remote work and high-performance applications smoother and more efficient.

  • Provides up to 50% better visuals with significantly lower bandwidth use, allowing better performance and latency regardless of your connection.
  • Introduces 4:4:4 chroma subsampling and 10-bit color support. This improves text and image clarity, making it ideal for users working with text, graphic design, or any task that requires sharp visuals.
  • 4:4:4 color is available for everyone. 10-bit color is exclusive to Teams Enterprise customers, offering enhanced color depth with access to over a billion colors.
  • Start using it now: To enable 4:4:4 color, connect to a computer and navigate to Remote > Color Quality > High. You’ll notice a difference immediately!

Surround Sound & Dynamic Audio:

  • 5.1 and 7.1 surround sound is now supported for Teams Enterprise users, with up to 8-channel audio, creating a more immersive experience for media professionals and high-fidelity audio users.
  • Dynamic audio input switching lets users change audio sources without disconnecting—useful when switching between headphones, speakers, or different microphones. To switch devices, connect to a computer and go to Remote > Audio > Receive Audio and select the host’s audio device.

Networking & Security:

  • The improved networking stack includes better bandwidth estimation, forward error correction, and faster recovery from transient network issues.
  • This results in fewer connection disruptions, smoother performance on unstable networks, and reduced lag across different network conditions.

Web-Based Remote Desktop Client:

  • Connect directly from any web browser without installing a native client. This means you can connect from a phone, TV, VR headsets like the Meta Quest or Apple Vision Pro. Any device with a web browser works! The client is optimized for both desktop and mobile browsers.
  • The Android mobile experience was a key focus in development. We optimized usability with features like multiple gestures and transparent overlaid keypads.
  • To make collaboration and remote support easier, you can now start screen-sharing sessions directly from a web browser without additional downloads.
  • We’re constantly improving this experience!
  • Best of all—it’s free! Try it now at https://jumpdesktop.com. Click Sign In, then go to My Computers to get started.
