Jump Desktop Connect 6.10.23 Beta

This release addresses the following issues:

- Fixed: Users cannot log in if their local account requires a password reset.
- Fixed: On Windows, there are now virtual monitor fixes for headless machines with NVIDIA graphics cards.
- Fixed: On Mac, Adobe Premiere timeline movements are now smooth.
- New: Introduced a new Password-less Login feature for Jump Desktop for Teams users. This feature is always disabled by default on all existing and new installations. To enable this feature, open up Connect Settings and edit the Password-less login feature.
- New: Added support for disabling Privacy Mode and Audio Streaming via Connect Settings.
- Stability improvements.

Jump Desktop for Mac 8.10.7 Beta

This is a minor update for Jump Desktop for Mac. It addresses the following issues:

  • Fixed: RDP printing issues in Sonoma when connecting to legacy Windows machines.
  • New feature: Added support for Passwordless logins for Jump Desktop for Teams (requires Connect 6.10.23 or later). Note: This feature is always disabled by default and can only be enabled by Team administrators via Connect Settings.
  • Fixed: The domain name was not saved correctly.
  • Fixed: Implemented a workaround for hangs when connecting using certain VPNs.

To update to the beta, open Jump Desktop, go to Settings, and ensure 'Beta updates' is checked. Then, click on Help -> Check for Updates. Please note: This process only works if you have downloaded Jump Desktop from our website.

  • New: Microphone redirection support for Fluid connections. You can now send audio to the machine you're connecting to. At the moment this supported when connecting from a Mac to another Mac. 
    1. Make sure you're running Jump Desktop Connect 6.7.65 beta.
    2. Make sure you're connecting from a Mac
    3. After you connect click Remote -> Audio -> Send Audio and select a local device to start recording from.
    4. On the remote / host mac, the audio will play on the Jump Desktop Microphone device.
  • New: Options to always start connections in 'Observe Only' mode and turn of Fluid's resolution matching for all connections. Open up Jump Desktop -> Preferences -> General -> Connections
  • Fixes for playing audio through Bluetooth headphones.
  • New: Retina mode for Fluid connections. At the moment only supported when connecting from a Mac with a retina screen to another Mac with a retina screen. 
    1. Make sure you're running Jump Desktop Connect 6.7.65 beta on the host.
    2. Make sure you're connecting from a Mac with a Retina display and make sure the remote Mac also has support for retina.
    3. After you connect click Remote -> Displays -> Use Retina Resolution.

Please note: Retina mode requires up to 4x the number of pixels an may have a performance impact on connections.

On Premise Relay Server

Starting with Jump Desktop Connect 6.7.42 you can run on-premise, high availability relay servers. Relay servers allow you to control how Jump Desktop traffic is routed through your infrastructure and isolate traffic to a specific host. All traffic is run through a specific set of UDP ports so you can control exactally what goes in and out and apply proper QoS if needed. You can use on-premise relay servers for better performance and increased security.

Disconnect Connections From The Dashboard

Some time back we added the ability for Teams Enterprise customers to see in real time, all active connections to their team's computers from the dashboard. Today, we've added the ability that lets admins force disconnect a connection straight from the team dashboard. To force disconnect a connection, drill down to the active connection and then click the red X icon to disconnect the user. This will force disconnect the user's active session.

Save on Team Licenses by Disabling Remote Access for Users

You can now save on Jump Desktop for Team licenses by temporarily disabling remote access for users and administrators on a team. This is useful when a Team member goes on vacation, a production goes on hiatus or if you have an administrator on the team who does not need to connect to computers. When a user's remote access is disabled, they will no longer be able to connect to computers on the team and we'll stop billing for that user. Since Jump Desktop for Teams billing is prorated, you will never pay extra. You can re-enable a user's remote access anytime.

Administrators who have their remote access disabled will still be able to administer the team. This way you can have multiple administrators on the team without having to pay extra.

To disable a user's remote access visit your team's dashboard -> Users -> the user -> three dots on the top right -> Disable Remote Access. Similarly to enable remote remote access Users -> the user -> three dots on the top right -> Enable Remote Access.
